AMBER SHARP
Writer/Director/Producer
Amber Sharp’s passion for storytelling began while studying English and African American Studies in college, where she decided to turn her vivid daydreams into cinematic experiences. To refine her craft, she earned a degree from the prestigious USC School of Cinema. Her thesis film, Triple Minority, became a festival favorite, earning accolades at renowned events such as the 2006 Pan African Film Festival, the 2006 London Lesbian and Gay Film Festival, and Frameline 30: San Francisco International Film Festival.

The film received multiple awards, including Best Female Short Film at the Long Island Gay and Lesbian Film Festival and the Sacramento International Gay and Lesbian Film Festival, as well as Best Narrative International Lesbian Short at the Tel Aviv International LGBT Film Festival. Triple Minority premiered on MTV’s LOGO channel and was featured in The Click List: Best In Short Films on logoonline.com. It was later distributed by Wolfe Video in their She Likes Girls 2 compilation DVD.

Since her graduation, Sharp has collaborated with industry luminaries such as Patrick Ian Polk (Noah’s Arc), Kasi Lemmons (Eve’s Bayou, Caveman’s Valentine), Edmonds Entertainment, and Debbie Allen (Fame). Building on her extensive industry experience, she founded A.Sharp Productions. Her original television pilot, Don’t Go, earned the Best Director Award at the Oakland Black LGBT Film Festival and gained international recognition at various festivals.

In 2017, Amber made her feature film debut with Quiet as Kept, which won multiple awards, including Best Narrative Feature, Best Actress (Dalila Ali Rajah), and Best Honorary Acting Talent (Jensen Atwood), and garnered nominations for Best Filmmaker and Best Production Design at the Americans Rainbow Film Festival.

Sharp’s latest television pilot, Dimensional Shift, is now featured on Tubi, bringing her groundbreaking storytelling to a wider audience. She is also currently writing a teenage comedy exploring a young woman’s journey of self-discovery, continuing her commitment to creating authentic and inspiring narratives.
